January 18, 2010. Podcasts weren't a word yet. Somewhere in Hermosa Beach, a SHOUTcast server hummed and a host calling himself The Bat Adam hit record on an interview with Warbringer — LA thrash, loud and unbothered — for a station called IndoRadioOnline.com.
That tape survived sixteen years, two studio moves, and one 16-terabyte recovery operation. It's the oldest artifact in the Indo Radio vault — and it's not alone. Sixty-two original broadcast masters came back with it: full sessions with Fortunate Youth, Special C, Cannabis Corpse, Obituary, Sonny Soto, both episodes of Born Into This, the MLK and Lennon spots, and the station IDs that held it all together.
“We were broadcasting interviews with Shoutcast before podcasts were even a thing. We just called it online radio.”
The whole vault streams inside the Indo Radio experience as Indo Radio Classic — members only. Sixteen years of signal, zero corporate static. Start with the story on the legacy page, where three of the original station IDs are playable right now.
